About the position

The Operations Manager 4 for the Logistics Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory will provide technical leadership and management for the Logistics Modernization, Systems, and Subcontract Management Group. This role involves overseeing approximately 600 subcontracted employees and managing various teams focused on process improvement, safety integration, and chemical inventory management. The manager will interface with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective subcontracting, process improvement, and safety initiatives, while fostering a customer service model that aligns with the laboratory's mission.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and expertise for all aspects of subcontracting for small project, safety, and preventive and corrective maintenance portfolios.
  • Monitor contract progress to ensure customer requirements are met and subcontract information is transparent.
  • Develop and administer operations-related documentation for the Logistics Division, including policies and procedures.
  • Define and recommend organizational objectives, develop plans, and monitor progress to assure strategic objectives are attained.
  • Direct exploration of process improvement initiatives and recommend solutions to complex problems.
  • Manage personnel aspects including headcount, forecasting, budget, and compliance with regulations.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in management, supervision, and human resource administration of multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Relevant work experience in leading teams related to Small Project and Maintenance subcontracts.
  • Experience interfacing with stakeholders at all levels, including LANL management and NNSA/DOE staff.
  • Proven leadership in a customer service environment and capability in building stakeholder relationships.
  • Success in strategic and tactical level planning and improving organizational efficiency.

Nice-to-haves

  • In-depth knowledge of the Laboratory's organizational structure.
  • Experience with LANL business systems for personnel management.
  • Excellent skills in preparing and presenting reports to a diverse workforce.
  • Completion of P850 STR training and familiarity with STR procedures.
  • Completion of training for P300 and resulting AP series.
