About the position

The Logistics Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking an Operations Manager 4 to lead the Logistics Modernization, Systems, and Subcontract Management Group. This role involves overseeing a large team of subcontracted employees and managing various logistics operations, including safety integration, chemical inventory, and process improvement initiatives. The group leader will interface with multiple stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery and alignment with the laboratory's mission.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and expertise for all aspects of subcontracting for small project, safety, and preventive and corrective maintenance portfolios.
  • Monitor contract progress to ensure customer requirements are met and subcontract information is transparent.
  • Develop and administer operations-related documentation for the Logistics Division.
  • Define and recommend organizational objectives, develop specific plans, and monitor progress to assure strategic objectives are attained.
  • Direct exploration of process improvement initiatives and recommend solutions to complex problems.
  • Manage personnel, including headcount, forecasting, budgeting, and compliance with regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and 8 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in management, supervision, and human resource administration of multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Relevant work experience in leading teams related to Small Project and Maintenance subcontracts.
  • Proven ability to interface with stakeholders at all levels, including LANL management and NNSA/DOE staff.
  • Excellence in customer service and relationship management.

Nice-to-haves

  • In-depth knowledge of the Laboratory's organizational structure.
  • Experience with LANL business systems for personnel management.
  • Excellent skills in preparing and presenting reports to a diverse workforce.
  • Completion of P850 STR training and familiarity with STR procedures.
  • Completion of training for P300 and resulting AP series.
