About the position

The Logistics Operational Excellence Manager at Coty is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics and distribution center operations in Sanford, NC. This role focuses on enhancing productivity and efficiency through the application of lean tools and methodologies, while also ensuring consistency in key performance indicators (KPIs) and fostering a culture of operational excellence across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, lead, and manage continuous improvement initiatives within logistics and distribution center operations.
  • Conduct gap analyses to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Coach and provide guidance to cross-functional teams and subject matter experts on lean tools and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement standardized KPIs, ensuring consistency and accuracy in their measurement and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain visual management systems to facilitate real-time monitoring and decision-making.
  • Drive a culture of operational excellence by promoting and fostering a continuous improvement mindset across the organization.
  • Lead and oversee project teams to ensure successful project delivery, including defining project scopes, setting objectives, and monitoring progress.
  • Implement robust change management strategies to drive sustainable improvements and ensure organizational buy-in.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in logistics and operational excellence, and identify opportunities for their application within the organization.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute the operational excellence roadmap aligned with organizational goals.
  • Own and administer Labor Management System as a key tool to drive efficiencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Industrial Engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience (3-4 years) in driving continuous improvement initiatives and utilizing lean tools and methodologies in manufacturing, warehouse, and/or logistics.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams and subject matter experts.
  • Proficient in conducting gap analyses and developing improvement strategies.
  • Solid project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading and delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex concepts to stakeholders at various levels.
  • Change management expertise to drive organizational transformation and sustain improvements.
  • Familiarity with visual management practices and tools to facilitate real-time monitoring and decision-making.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

Nice-to-haves

  • Warehouse Management System and Labor Management System knowledge is a plus.
  • Certification in lean or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
