About the position

The Logistics Operations Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating logistics operations, ensuring timely deliveries and excellent customer service. This role involves working closely with drivers and customers, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The position includes a training period where the coordinator will learn the operational aspects of the role, transitioning from driving to coordinating logistics activities.

Responsibilities

• Scheduling and managing drivers for freight deliveries or pickups.
• Providing excellent customer service by communicating freight details, pickup and drop-off times to customers.
• Assigning driver's orders and ensuring timely deliveries under the guidance of the Dispatch Manager.
• Identifying traffic problems and creating corrective action plans.
• Proactively troubleshooting logistical challenges as they arise.
• Building professional relationships with drivers and customers.
• Planning routes for drivers and handling on-demand orders.
• Inputting data into the computer system to ensure job accuracy and completeness.
• Providing hands-on assistance to drivers when necessary, including unloading packages.
• Responding promptly to emails, calls, and instant messages.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and dispatching systems.
• Ability to input information rapidly into a dispatching system (at least 40 wpm).
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly.

Nice-to-haves

• 2 years of experience in On Demand Logistics (preferred)
