About the position

As a Logistics Operations Coordinator at Maersk Warehousing and Distribution USA LLC, you will play a crucial role in managing the logistics operations within our Last Mile Facility in Denver, CO. This position is integral to ensuring that our warehousing and distribution logistics needs are met efficiently and effectively. You will be responsible for scheduling drivers to make deliveries and pick up packages from customers and vendors, acting as a liaison between customers, drivers, and management. Your role will involve planning predetermined routes for drivers, identifying traffic problems, and creating corrective action plans to ensure timely deliveries. You will also prepare general dispatch documents for management and maintain records of all dispatch calls, driver routes, and delivery times. In this position, you will need to communicate effectively with customers and vendors regarding freight details, pickup and drop-off times, and any special requests. You will monitor truck repairs and maintenance schedules, log vendor complaints, and assist with any inquiries from vendors, customers, and management. The role requires a strong aptitude for time management, an excellent understanding of local and state traffic laws, and the ability to make quick changes in routing as necessary. You will be working in a clerical administrative capacity within a professional office setting, which may require occasional remote work. Your contributions will help build flexibility and resilience into the supply chain process, ensuring that we can meet our customers' needs even in unexpected conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Directly in charge of scheduling drivers to make deliveries and pick up packages from customers and vendors.
  • Act as a liaison between customers, drivers, and management.
  • Communicate with customers and vendors about freight details, pickup and drop-off times, and special requests.
  • Plan predetermined routes for drivers.
  • Identify traffic problems and issues and create appropriate corrective action plans to achieve desirable results on time.
  • Prepare general dispatch documents for management and pull any documents needed by employees, customers, or vendors.
  • Maintain a record of all dispatch calls, driver routes, route changes, as well as delivery and pick-up times.
  • Monitor truck repairs and maintenance schedules.
  • Log vendor complaints or concerns.
  • Answer phone calls from vendors, customers, and management and assist them as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2-3 years of freight dispatching experience is highly valued.
  • Strong aptitude for time management.
  • Excellent understanding of local and state traffic laws and regulations.
  • Ability to make quick changes in routing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Deep understanding of computer software and technologies.
  • Able to read, write, and speak English.
