About the position

The Logistics Operations Manager at the Kings Mountain Operations (KMO) plant is responsible for overseeing all warehouse and logistics functions, ensuring efficient materials handling, inventory control, and collaboration with 3PL companies. This role involves leading a team of Logistics Operations Supervisors, optimizing logistics processes, and maintaining safety standards while supporting the Volvo Production Systems mindset.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and monitor all warehouse and logistics functions at the KMO plant.
• Develop and implement materials handling procedures to optimize resources and achieve safety standards.
• Oversee the maintenance of inventory control systems and track purchase orders and inventory levels.
• Liaise with functional area managers and 3PL companies to ensure smooth operations.
• Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of Logistics Operations Supervisors across multiple shifts.
• Support logistics preparation and changes on KMO product and industrial projects.
• Manage activities with Logistics Operations Supervisors to improve POU through X-Functional KAIZEN and Root Cause Analysis.
• Maintain performance metrics of logistics processes using the PFEP tool.
• Assess material handling equipment needs and control Fleet Management.
• Monitor and implement safety protocols.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and/or 5-7 years of related field experience.
• In-depth supply chain knowledge.
• Strong leadership, time management, planning, organization, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• Problem solver with the ability to think creatively and critically.
• Capacity to work with technical drawings and conceptualize manufacturing solutions.
