About the position

Linde is seeking a qualified Logistics Planner who will be responsible for distribution planning, system planning, and execution of these plans. The role requires initiative, self-motivation, and the ability to work within a team environment to ensure supply reliability and compliance with quality assurance and safety goals.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for distribution planning, system planning, and execution of plans.
  • Manage bulk gas inventories at Linde customers and utilize computer-aided planning tools.
  • Develop a daily distribution schedule ensuring 100% supply reliability at the lowest cost.
  • Notify management of situations affecting customer supply and seek additional resources if needed.
  • Ensure all deliveries comply with Linde's Quality Assurance program and regulatory programs.
  • Support Linde's safety goals in all planning activities.
  • Handle incoming calls from customers and drivers, taking appropriate actions.
  • Monitor DriverChat messages from drivers and respond accordingly.
  • Book drivers on tours in accordance with contractual agreements and DOT regulations.
  • Review daily vehicle/driver resources to manage current demand.
  • Adjust operational plans based on scheduled outages, customer demand, and resource status.
  • Interact with drivers and driver supervisors on logistics matters and author Fleet Effectiveness reports.
  • Identify and modify inaccuracies in Praxair's Advanced Logistics System (PALS).

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-year experience planning in a busy Logistics department or service industry.
  • 2 Year college degree required, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or Military experience.
  • Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shift initially, with potential to move to 1st shift based on experience.
  • Preferred degree in Logistics or supply chain management.
  • 2 years' work experience managing competing priorities and problem solving in a high-volume environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a logistics or supply chain management role.
  • Familiarity with computer-aided planning tools.
