About the position

The Advanced Logistics Planner at Weatherford is responsible for executing and optimizing domestic logistics strategies, focusing on cargo consolidation and load optimization. This role involves coordinating transportation activities, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders, and making decisions that impact cost and service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute and optimize transport considering cost, service, and planning parameters.
• Utilize various transportation software systems for material movement, planning, and scheduling.
• Prepare and update weekly logistics schedules to ensure on-time deliveries.
• Track and trace cargo in transit until proof of delivery (POD).
• Communicate shipment status to Logistics, Product lines, and Sales organizations as required.
• Work closely with transport service providers to ensure efficient execution of processes.
• Assist in obtaining necessary transport permits and prepare transportation paperwork.
• Support the development and implementation of improved logistics processes and systems.
• Interact with Customer Service for optimum load selection and communicate potential issues.
• Establish route guidance and work on rationalization of carriers.
• Collaborate with sourcing on pricing for high volume lanes.
• Receive and audit freight invoices and monitor carrier scorecards.
• Engage with internal and external customers to address concerns and complaints.
• Manage freight claims and coordinate last mile deliveries for air freight and ocean shipments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management (SCM), or Freight Forwarding.
• 3+ years of experience in Oil and Gas with a focus on US domestic transportation planning.

Nice-to-haves

• DOT & IATA Dangerous goods certification.
• Experience in logistics planning.
