About the position

As a Logistics Production Manager at Caterpillar's Decatur, IL facility, you will lead a team of material specialists, focusing on enhancing production efficiency and safety while adhering to the company's core values. This role involves driving continuous improvement initiatives, implementing LEAN principles, and managing team performance to meet production goals and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and improve shop floor safety, eliminating unsafe operations.
• Schedule and prioritize constrained resources and adjust staffing to meet flow and customer requirements.
• Manage team performance and development.
• Increase production efficiency through continuous improvement and waste elimination via LEAN principles.
• Initiate and conduct process improvement dialogs with Team Leads and Team Members.
• Lead section status reporting and monitor/audit section metrics.
• Lead the creation, implementation, and training of standard work procedures.
• Present during daily shift start meetings, train others, and interact with customers.
• Monitor, engage safety efficiency, and promote stop to fix.

Requirements

• Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques.
• Ability to plan and organize both time and resources systematically.
• Understanding of evaluating current product quality and production methods for continuous improvement.
