About the position

As a Logistics Project Manager at Mitsubishi Power Americas, you will be responsible for developing and implementing logistics operational strategies for project deliveries, focusing on heavy haul and over-dimensional logistics. This role involves managing logistics service provider relationships, ensuring on-time and safe deliveries, and overseeing project logistics budgets while identifying opportunities for performance improvement and risk mitigation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement project logistics strategies to meet project requirements.
• Manage logistics operational excellence for all transport modes, focusing on heavy haul and over-dimensional logistics.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to understand project requirements and timelines.
• Provide logistics expertise to support project planning and execution.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with project deliveries, including road restrictions and permitting.
• Establish and track project-specific goals and metrics to ensure adherence to project management controls.
• Evaluate transportation methods and route planning for safe cargo delivery.
• Develop and manage relationships with carriers, riggers, railroads, and logistics service providers.
• Monitor supplier performance and implement improvement plans based on lessons learned.
• Stay updated on market trends and emerging technologies in heavy haul logistics.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Ten years of project logistics experience managing heavy haul and over-dimensional loads, or fifteen years of project logistics experience in a related field.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents.
• Strong writing skills for reports and business correspondence.
• Ability to calculate budgets and estimates accurately.
• Problem-solving skills to deal with practical issues and risks.
• Ability to process large amounts of data for decision-making.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
