About The Position

The Logistics Router/Dispatcher is responsible for managing routing and dispatching activities for same-day deliveries, ensuring efficient operations according to company policies and procedures. This role involves daily route planning, monitoring drivers, and maintaining communication with both drivers and customers to facilitate timely deliveries.

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Ability to follow written, verbal, and telephonic instructions.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Willingness and ability to learn new software.
• Organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a busy office environment.
• Team player with problem-solving skills.
• Positive attitude.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Descartes Route Planner is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with opening driving routes daily.
• Monitor drivers and their routes.
• Complete paperwork daily.
• Use routing software effectively.
• Schedule and confirm delivery teams daily.
• Prepare paperwork for next day routes.
• Proficiently map locations and provide directions.
• Read route sheets thoroughly and plan trips to save time and fuel.
• Communicate with dispatch and contact customers when required.
• Assess route schedules and timing of deliveries with drivers.
• Communicate professionally with internal staff, external customers, and vendors.
