About the position

The Logistics Specialist role is an entry-level position focused on the efficient movement of goods both domestically and internationally. The specialist will be responsible for packing, marking, labeling, and ensuring compliance with local and international shipping regulations. This position requires a basic understanding of logistics processes and the ability to coordinate shipments while maintaining communication with customers. The role also involves data recording and trend analysis to improve logistics services.

Responsibilities

• Properly pack, mark, label, and acquire weight and dimensions for cargo.
• Coordinate pre-shipping instructions and maintain logs, files, and supporting documents.
• Ensure compliance with local and international laws for the movement of goods.
• Understand the complete logistics process cycle and execute proper documentation for shipments.
• Demonstrate knowledge of transport modes (ocean, air, land) and hazardous movements.
• Coordinate orders for shipment from origin to destination, ensuring timely delivery.
• Assist finance and accounting with validation of rates and charges on invoices.
• Utilize SAP and other logistics systems for job duties and ensure timely movement of goods.
• Record data measurements to identify trends and improve logistics services.

Requirements

• Completion of a 2-year degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Information Systems, or Engineering.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Entry-level position; no previous experience required.
