About the position

The Data Center Logistics Specialist at Amazon Web Services (AWS) plays a crucial role in managing the logistics and supply chain operations within the world's largest cloud computing infrastructure. This position involves reviewing inventory, managing in-bound shipments, and ensuring optimal stock levels to support data center operations. The specialist collaborates with various teams to track inventory, fulfill parts requests, and maintain accurate billing and records, all while adhering to safety standards and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Review Data Center inventory and in-bound shipments to maintain proper stock levels.
• Create plans to optimize the flow of parts through their lifecycle.
• Track inventory location, movement, age, and turns.
• Work closely with Datacenter Operations Technicians and Engineers to fulfill parts requests.
• Interface with Procurement and Hardware Engineering to purchase new parts.
• Communicate regularly with vendors to resolve issues and understand business requirements.
• Ensure accurate data entry and resolve questions from peer organizations.
• Validate and process billing associated with the inventory supply chain.
• Assist in daily scheduling of deliveries and pick-ups to and from production locations.
• Unpack boxes and verify contents of incoming shipments.
• Keep precise records of all commodities going in and out of the company.

Requirements

• 2+ years of logistics experience
• 1+ years of material forecasting experience
• 1+ year of experience in shipping & receiving, inventory and warehousing practices.
