About the position

The Logistics Specialist at MVM, Inc. plays a critical role in supporting 24/7 operations by performing logistical and administrative tasks essential for the safe transport of minors. This position requires coordination with various stakeholders to ensure proper documentation and vehicle safety, while also managing the transportation process effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, reviews, and coordinates documentation for the transportation of minors.
  • Assists with the transfer of custody and property for small and large groups.
  • Maintains communication with teams assuming custody of unaccompanied children (UCs).
  • Informs command center of any transport cancellations.
  • Inventories, orders, and delivers meals, supplies, and electronics for transport.
  • Drives passengers to and from client sites or airports.
  • Installs and removes child car seats and booster seats as required.
  • Observes and assists with UC orientation and describes the transport process.
  • Prepares for charter flights and buses, including reviewing documentation and inspecting cleanliness.
  • Cleans vehicles, sanitizes interiors, and ensures they are fueled and ready for trips.
  • Checks vehicles for contraband and ensures emergency kits are available.
  • Logs and reports all vehicle activities in software applications.
  • Prepares transportation and meal reports, as well as Ad Hoc reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Possess an associate degree or a high school diploma with two or more years of relevant experience.
  • At least two years of documented experience in security, law, social work, detention, corrections, or a similar field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to take technical direction and feedback.
  • Strong customer service commitment.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to pass a Government Security Background Investigation.
  • Flexible schedule availability, including nights and weekends.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
  • Some experience with vehicle maintenance.
  • Experience using tablets and smartphones.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with inventory and surveillance software.
