About the position
The Logistics Specialist position is responsible for supporting and coordinating the transportation of electrical utility materials and equipment to assist field personnel across various regions. This role operates under the supervision of the Warehouse General Foreman and requires effective communication, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Support and coordinate the transportation of electrical utility materials and equipment.
- Participate in training and job duties across all regions within the company footprint.
- Manage order processing through Peoplesoft.
- Ensure compliance with DOT permitting requirements, rules, and regulations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED; college degree preferred.
- 3+ years of dispatching or logistics coordination experience.
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving operations.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and computer skills in Microsoft applications.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work independently or in a group environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with DOT permitting requirements, rules, and regulations.
- Experience with Peoplesoft for order processing.
