About the position
The Logistics Specialist will oversee and manage logistics operations to ensure efficient transportation and distribution of goods. This role requires strong analytical skills, mechanical knowledge, and experience in warehouse management and supply chain processes, playing a crucial role in optimizing logistics strategies and enhancing operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory control.
- Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to track shipments and optimize routes.
- Oversee materials handling processes to ensure safe and efficient movement of goods.
- Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to streamline supply chain activities.
- Analyze logistics data to identify trends, improve processes, and reduce costs.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and shipment schedules.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment as needed for loading and unloading materials.
- Support category management initiatives by providing insights on logistics performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in logistics, warehouse management, or supply chain operations.
- Familiarity with NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) processes is a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to materials handling equipment.
- Proficient in using transportation management systems for tracking shipments.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Forklift certification is preferred but not mandatory; training may be provided.
- A commitment to maintaining safety standards in all logistics operations.
