About the position

The Logistics Sr. Specialist plays a crucial role in the Supply Chain Management Operations Department at Honda, overseeing and standardizing internal material handling operations across North America. This position serves as a liaison between various manufacturing functions and contracted logistics companies, ensuring efficient operations and timely delivery of materials to support production processes.

Responsibilities

• Act as the plant lead for Supply Chain Operations and all contracted logistics companies on site.
• Manage lineside delivery calls, impacts, short part crises, and Returnable Container Operations (RCC).
• Serve as the ELP service lead for Supply Chain Operations, coordinating with departments to meet monthly on-time delivery targets.
• Manage and coordinate daily shift reports summarizing SQCDME impact items and follow-up activities for the next shift.
• Lead department meetings and communicate effectively with contracted logistics companies and drivers.
• Act as Project Leader for intercompany logistics, coordinating daily orders and ensuring timely shipments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in manufacturing supply chain and/or material flow.
• Effective communication skills to convey problem summaries to cross-functional audiences.
• Broad understanding of parts flow, logistics, delivery systems, and manufacturing flow.
• Ability to provide direction to team members and internal customers, taking on leadership roles as needed.
• Project management experience or capability.
• Good presentation skills and ability to multi-task.
• Reliable and flexible work ethic.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with logistics software and tools.
