About the position

The Logistics / Supply Chain Agent - Customs Brokerage Intern position at Expeditors is designed for motivated individuals looking to start or advance their careers in international logistics and global trade. This full-time, on-site role in Chesapeake, VA, focuses on preparing and executing US Customs Entries to ensure timely cargo release, while promoting compliance and efficiency within a multi-agency regulatory environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute the submission of US Customs Entries to ensure timely release of cargo.
• Analyze and evaluate data flows from customers into operational systems.
• Identify and manage exceptions while identifying opportunities for continual improvement.
• Ensure Customs declarations are prepared in compliance with all Partner Government Agencies.
• Meet or exceed performance goals and KPIs.
• Utilize specialized Expeditors software to increase compliance and efficiency.
• Complete 52 hours of training per year as per company standards.
• Promote compliance by following company policies and regulations with integrity.
• Exemplify the company's cultural attributes.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and OneNote.
• Proven ability to learn new software and utilize evolving technologies.

Nice-to-haves

• A U.S. Customs Broker License is not required but is a plus.
