About the position

The Logistics Support 3 position at Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) involves providing logistics support to the Navy's Expeditionary Logistics Support group. The role focuses on preparing logistics documentation, managing equipment and repair parts, and ensuring the proper allocation of materials in a warehouse environment. The candidate will work with a variety of materials and be responsible for stockpile maintenance and logistics operations to support military missions.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support to the logistics function preparing logistics documentation to establish the range and depth of spares, tools, test equipment and related manuals to be deployed and stocked.
  • Determines maintenance and repair materials required for deployment.
  • Modifies maintenance records such as repair standards for more complex equipment or components.
  • Develops requisitions for and manages records of equipment, components, repair parts and related manuals.
  • Tracks logistics materials and parts for proper allocation of storage facilities.
  • Reviews configuration changes to evaluate impact on logistics deployment.
  • Documents equipment, component and parts conditions.
  • Identifies logistic support documentation to be included such as drawings, technical manuals, and maintenance requirement cards to support life-cycle of product.
  • Assesses tasks, provides feedback to the functional lead for the execution of weekly tasks, and adheres to all safety standards and practices.
  • Packages material for the Expeditionary Sailor ensuring that they have what they need to support their mission.
  • Uses a Warehouse Management System to schedule, pick and pack military material and assign it to a specific build.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
  • Experience in using Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of Federal Supply System.
  • Experience fabricating and assembling non-standard shipping crates and boxes, and unpacking and repacking material for storage.
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security clearance.

  • Experience using DPAS Warehouse Management System.
