About the position

Sealed Air is seeking an entry-level Logistics position that will provide comprehensive training for a period of up to 6 months. This role is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and grow within the logistics field, with the potential to advance to Intermediate or Advanced positions upon successful completion of the training period. The position offers a starting pay rate of $15.85 per hour and involves a variety of essential duties that contribute to the overall efficiency of the logistics operations. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving materials from outside vendors and other site locations, utilizing SAP to document the receipt of finished goods and manage outbound shipments. You will load trailers according to specified diagrams to ensure compliance with weight requirements and perform visual inventory audits to confirm that records match actual inventory. Safety is a priority, and you will ensure that trailers are inspected and that safety procedures are strictly followed. Additionally, you will unload trailers and stage materials on the shipping floor, monitor outgoing materials by comparing identifying information, and verify accuracy through counting, weighing, or measuring items. Operating cutting machinery and reading production schedules are also key components of this position. You will be expected to follow production schedules, make informed decisions based on data, and maintain flexibility within a high-performance work environment. The role requires the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision, while continuously lifting up to 39 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Receive materials from outside vendors and other site locations.
  • Utilize SAP to document receipt of finished goods and for outbound shipments.
  • Load trailers by following diagrams to ensure the trailers meet weight requirements.
  • Perform visual inventory audits and confirm they match to actual records.
  • Ensure that the trailers are inspected and safety procedures are followed.
  • Unload trailers and stage materials on the shipping floor.
  • Monitor outgoing materials comparing identifying information and counting, weighing, and/or measuring items to verify accuracy.
  • Operate cutting machinery safely and effectively.
  • Read and understand production schedules and tasks.
  • Put away inbound items and examine incoming materials to ensure they are intact and damage-free.
  • Pull items for further processing according to supervisor's instructions.
  • Record all shortages and damages and report issues to team leader for further investigation.
