About the position

The Logistics/Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operations of the warehouse and logistics inventory systems. This role involves managing a warehouse with industrial parts and supplies valued between $500,000 to $950,000, while leading a team of 5 to 7 employees. The supervisor will implement industry strategies and methods to ensure efficient inventory management and customer support services.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate customer support services including supply issue points and stockroom functions.
  • Utilize Maximo for inventory recording and management.
  • Analyze and adjust inventory levels to adhere to Just-In-Time (JIT) practices.
  • Use Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint to track and report progress.
  • Coordinate the disposal of excess inventory and process returns.
  • Oversee supply support functions such as staging, delivery, requisitioning, and expediting services.
  • Monitor internal controls to ensure accuracy of item records and documentation.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate Material Management operations.
  • Monitor the shelf life of materials to ensure timely usage or sale.
  • Adhere to the company-wide Safety program to maintain a safe environment.
  • Review and oversee departmental operations, recommending improvements.
  • Forecast resource requirements and submit budget recommendations.
  • Prepare reports on inventory analysis and effectiveness metrics.
  • Promote quality and customer service internally and externally.
  • Develop and implement Supply Chain Management strategies.
  • Introduce and maintain Bar Coding processes in supply operations.
  • Maintain optimal stocking levels and material locations.
  • Ensure product availability through effective inventory management.
  • Establish and report metrics to measure inventory management success.
  • Provide proactive leadership to a team of 5 to 7 personnel.

Requirements

  • Five years progressively responsible supply experience.
  • Experience working within a regional or national supply logistics network.
  • Familiarity with Activity Based Costing.
  • Proficient in cycle counting on a perpetual basis.
  • Proficient in Windows based programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Maximo highly desired.
  • Ability to obtain a SECRET Security clearance.
  • Ability to pass background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid state driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Current Secret Security Clearance
  • Two years college level courses in business or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working on a Government Contract or Government Facility.
