About the position

The Long-Term Substitute Teacher for 3rd Grade at St. Theresa Catholic School is responsible for guiding and evaluating students' learning processes while supporting the school's educational mission. This part-time position involves lesson planning, classroom management, and collaboration with other educators to ensure that students meet educational standards. The role requires a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and upholding the values of Catholic education.

Responsibilities

  • Teach students in a classroom setting, managing their work output and behavior on a daily basis.
  • Develop teaching and learning materials, including lesson plans, exams, homework, and projects.
  • Modify lesson plans and materials to suit students' current learning levels.
  • Monitor and track student progress and issue grades.
  • Maintain relationships with parents and guardians to keep them informed of their child's progress.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and administrators to provide individualized support for each student.
  • Ensure that students meet educational standards and school performance goals for their grade level.
  • Maintain a work schedule that maximizes availability to students, parents, and staff.
  • Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the school's mission.
  • Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
  • Participate in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in the subject taught or related field from an accredited American university or equivalent in a foreign country.
  • 3 years of teaching experience preferred.
  • Valid Texas driver's license.
  • Compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies throughout employment.
  • Meet the minimum requirements for the teaching field as set forth by the Diocese and TCCB ED.
  • Complete Religion Certification Part 1 within two years of the hire date, completing at least 25 hours each year.
