About the position

The Long Term Elementary Special Education Teacher will be responsible for providing specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs in an elementary school setting. This position requires a deep understanding of special education practices, individualized education plans (IEPs), and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each student. The teacher will work collaboratively with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to create an inclusive learning environment that fosters academic and social growth for all students. In this role, the teacher will develop and implement lesson plans that align with state standards while accommodating the specific learning requirements of students with disabilities. The teacher will assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies as needed to ensure that each student is making adequate progress towards their educational goals. Additionally, the teacher will maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress and any necessary interventions. The Long Term Elementary Special Education Teacher will also participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education and contribute to a positive school culture that values diversity and inclusion. This position is essential in supporting the academic success and emotional well-being of students with special needs, ensuring they have access to a quality education that prepares them for future challenges.
