About the position
The Long Term Special Education Substitute position is designed for individuals with a Special Education Credential who will work with students with mild to moderate learning disabilities. This role involves providing educational support and ensuring that students receive the necessary accommodations and modifications to succeed in their learning environment. The substitute will be responsible for various administrative and instructional tasks during their assignment, which lasts longer than 20 instructional days.
Responsibilities
- Work with students with mild/moderate learning disabilities.
- Hold parent conferences and attend IEP or SST meetings for students in the class.
- Develop report cards and conduct district and state assessments.
- Prepare lesson plans and attend back-to-school night and/or open house if it occurs during the assignment.
- Attend staff meetings, professional development, and planning meetings on Wednesday early dismissal days.
- Complete mandated trainings and submit time sheets per substitute payroll schedule.
Requirements
- Must have a Special Education Instruction Credential and English Learner authorization.
- Preliminary OR Clear Education Specialist Credential either Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe.
