About the position

The Long Term Substitute for 4th and 5th Grade at Franklin Elementary is responsible for implementing existing lesson plans, managing classroom activities, and ensuring a positive learning environment for students. This position requires a certified teacher to motivate students and address various learning styles while maintaining classroom control and safety.

Responsibilities

• Implement existing lesson plans to ensure academic integrity and motivate students.
• Instruct students on various classroom topics and courses of instruction.
• Follow lesson plans as required by school and district policy.
• Assign reasonable tasks and homework to students according to lesson plans.
• Address the various learning styles of students accordingly.
• Model correct use of spoken and written English language.
• Demonstrate professional practices in teaching.
• Maintain classroom control that fosters a safe, positive environment for all students and staff.
• Ensure adequate supervision of students and the classroom environment.
• Take necessary precautions to protect equipment, materials, and school property.
• Monitor students at all times while in the classroom.
• Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to school personnel immediately.
• May supervise students in out-of-class settings such as assemblies, lunchroom, or schoolyard.

Requirements

• Certified teacher with a current DPI license or a Substitute Permit through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
