Hold or be eligible for a West Virginia Teaching Certificate, Long-Term Substitute Teaching Permit.
SALARY: As Per State Adopted Substitute Salary Schedule
JOB DESCRIPTION AND PERFORMANCE CRITERIA (BASED ON STATE BOARD POLICY 5310):
Implementing programs of study
Fostering a classroom climate conducive to learning
Utilizing instructional management systems models which increase student learning
Monitoring student progress towards mastery of instructional objectives and goals
Communicating within the educational community and with parents on a regular basis
Meeting professional responsibilities
Meeting technology standards
Fulfill the expectations of a teacher in an Alternative Learning Setting by contributing intellect, time and resources.
Exhibit collaborative teaching and teaming
Implement RTI, academic, and/or at-risk interventions
Participate, contribute, and be an active member of a professional learning
community to assess student data, plan individualized student instruction, and grow professionally
Acquire training in providing education to troubled or disruptive youth
Integrate technology in teaching
Work with community agencies
Excellent written and verbal skills
Meet job requirements per WVDE Policy 2418 (alternative education)
Meet all Minutes and Requirements of all IEP
Ensure Accommodations for all students are being met
Remediate all students in areas of weakness
Assist in Data Collection of all students
General knowledge of serving special populations of learners
Effective oral and written communication skills
Co-teaching, modeling and intervention duties with special and general populations of learners
Collaborate/Co-Teach with general education teachers of all students
Maintain Data for IEP's of students' growth goals
