About the position

The Long Term Substitute Art Teacher at Bethel Middle School is responsible for providing quality art education to students during the absence of the regular art teacher. This position requires a commitment to fostering creativity and artistic expression among students, while also maintaining a structured and supportive classroom environment. The substitute teacher will implement lesson plans, assess student progress, and adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of learners. The role involves collaborating with other educators and staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience for all students. The substitute teacher will also be responsible for managing classroom behavior and creating a positive learning atmosphere that encourages student participation and engagement in art activities. In addition to teaching art, the Long Term Substitute Art Teacher will be expected to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration. This includes providing feedback on student performance and participating in school events and meetings as required. The ideal candidate will have a passion for art education and a strong understanding of various art techniques and mediums. They should be able to inspire students and help them develop their artistic skills while also integrating art history and appreciation into the curriculum. This position is a full-time role, and the substitute teacher will be expected to fulfill all duties of the regular art teacher, including grading assignments and maintaining student records.
