About the position

The Long Term Substitute History/Social Studies Teacher at Marlborough High School is responsible for providing high-quality instruction and promoting the learning and growth of students in grades 9-12. This role involves creating a safe and effective learning environment, utilizing data to inform instruction, and collaborating with families and colleagues to support student success. The position is anticipated to last from ASAP until January 17, 2025, with varying daily rates based on the length of service.

Responsibilities

• Promote learning and growth of all students through high-quality instruction.
• Analyze student data to improve instruction and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain instructional practices that establish high expectations and create a safe learning environment.
• Engage students in differentiated learning experiences to meet intended outcomes.
• Design and administer assessments to measure student learning and progress.
• Organize and analyze assessment results to adjust instructional practices.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support improved student learning.
• Communicate effectively with families about student performance and learning.
• Reflect on the effectiveness of lessons and seek to improve practice.
• Attend and participate in faculty meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or higher earned academic degree.
• Licensed by the State Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) in Massachusetts as a History/Social Studies Teacher covering grades 9-12.
• Knowledge of MA History and Social Science Curriculum Framework and Common Core State Standards.
• Bilingual (Spanish or Portuguese) preferred.
• SEI Endorsement on DESE License preferred.
