About the position

The Long Term Substitute-Kindergarten position involves teaching and managing a kindergarten classroom, focusing on delivering a comprehensive curriculum that includes English Language Arts (ELA), Math, Social Studies, and Science. The role requires effective instructional techniques, strong classroom management skills, and the ability to collaborate with staff and parents to support student learning and development.

Responsibilities

• Effectively teach ELA, Math, Social Studies, and Science curriculum for Kindergarten.
• Plan activities and lessons tailored to the curriculum.
• Collaborate on and implement curriculum activities and lessons.
• Demonstrate strong classroom management and positive behavior skills.
• Communicate effectively and collaborate with students, staff, and parents.
• Organize and manage time effectively in the classroom.
• Portray a positive role model to students.
• Grade students' work and assign term grades.
• Collect and interpret student data to inform instruction.
• Modify lessons based on student data.
• Utilize knowledge of special education strategies and methodology.

Requirements

• MA Teacher License
• Bachelor's Degree in Education
• Knowledge of the Curriculum Frameworks for Kindergarten
• Effective instructional techniques and classroom management skills
