About the position

The Bishop O'Gorman Catholic Schools is seeking a dedicated individual to serve as a long-term substitute music teacher at St. Michael Elementary School. This role is designed for a 12-week period starting in February, where the substitute will be responsible for delivering lesson plans, managing classroom activities, and fostering a supportive learning environment in alignment with the school's mission and core values.

Responsibilities

• Carry out the lesson plans and assigned duties to the best of your abilities
• Communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
• Assist students with questions
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
• Use relevant technology to support instruction
• Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, assignments as instructed by the teacher
• Enter grades on computer as instructed by the teacher
• Encourage, monitor, and promote the progress of individual students
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by enforcing rules and procedures
• Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school
• Fulfill the regular classroom teacher's extra duties
• Promote the mission of Bishop O'Gorman Catholic Schools
• Model in word and action the teachings of the Catholic Church
• Maintain the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which assigned
• Interact in a professional manner with students, staff, and parents
• Provide a brief report in writing on the day's activities at the conclusion of the day for the teacher
• Provide supervision to students at all times
• Maintain and respect confidentiality of student and school personnel information
• Leave the classroom in order at the end of the school day.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution
