About the position

The Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher will provide educational support to students with special needs at Red Lion Area Senior High School. This position is temporary, covering from January 15, 2025, through the end of the 2024-2025 school year, and aims to ensure that students receive the necessary learning support in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and support to students with special needs.
• Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices.
• Monitor and assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress.

Requirements

• Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification in Special Education.
• Experience working with students with special needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a long-term substitute role.
