About the position

Hampton Elementary School is seeking a dedicated Long-Term Substitute Teacher for a multi-age Grade 1/2 classroom. This full-time position involves co-teaching with the current teacher and providing small group instruction in reading and math intervention. The role is crucial in delivering quality education and fostering holistic growth for all students in a nurturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Co-teach and collaborate in a multi-age Grade 1/2 classroom.
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for diverse learners.
• Provide targeted reading and math instruction to small groups.
• Implement curriculum and lesson plans across multiple grade levels.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
• Assess student progress and provide timely feedback.
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to address individual student needs.
• Establish positive relationships with students, families, and the school community.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification/license appropriate for the grade levels and subjects taught.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• 1 year of childcare experience (preferred).
• Ability to relocate to Hampton, CT (preferred).
