About the position

The Duquesne City School District is seeking two long-term substitute teachers for K-8 STEM/STEAM and Middle School Science positions. These roles require current Pennsylvania teaching certifications and involve developing and implementing lessons for elementary and middle school students. The positions are temporary and report directly to the building principal, with compensation aligned with the collective bargaining agreement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans for K-8 STEM/STEAM and Middle School Science courses.
• Teach and engage elementary and middle school students in STEM/STEAM subjects.
• Ensure compliance with educational standards and requirements.
• Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with other educators and staff to enhance the learning experience.

Requirements

• Current Pennsylvania teaching certification in relevant subjects.
• Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field; higher degree preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in teaching elementary and middle school students.
• Current Act 33/34, Act 114, and Act 151 clearances.
