About the position

The Orchard Farm School District is seeking a Long Term Substitute Teacher for 5th Grade ELA/Social Studies. This role is essential in providing quality instruction to students during the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring that learning objectives are met. The position is anticipated to start on December 1, 2024, and end on January 24, 2025, with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities

• Deliver group and/or individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines as assigned by the classroom teacher or building administrator.
• Manage student behavior to provide a safe and optimal learning environment.
• Model appropriate social and interpersonal behavior, including conversation, manners, and cleanup activities.
• Monitor students in various educational environments to ensure a safe and positive learning atmosphere.
• Report incidents such as fights or suspected abuse to maintain student safety and adhere to school policies.
• Respond to emergency situations to resolve immediate safety concerns or direct to appropriate personnel.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient functioning of the work unit.

Requirements

• Minimum of 60 approved college credit hours required to obtain substitute certification.
• Missouri substitute teaching certificate required or valid Missouri teaching certificate preferred.
• Job-related experience is required.
• Cleared FBI Fingerprinting and Family Care Safety Registry background required.
• Resume, copy of transcripts, copy of certification, and 3 references (most recent employer required).

Benefits

• Competitive daily pay rates ranging from $120 to $200 depending on certification and experience.
• Additional pay after 10 days of service.
