About the position

The Long Term Substitute Teacher for Science at Forest Grove Middle School is responsible for delivering high-quality instructional experiences to students. This role requires creativity, resourcefulness, and sound judgment to align with the curriculum frameworks and standards set by Worcester Public Schools. The teacher will engage in effective planning, assessment, and management of the classroom environment while promoting high standards for student achievement and equity in education.

Responsibilities

• Remain up to date regarding curriculum content.
• Plan and assess curriculum and instruction effectively.
• Mentor students in understanding the curriculum and adjust instruction as needed.
• Manage the classroom environment effectively.
• Provide clear learning goals and use appropriate instructional techniques.
• Utilize innovative approaches and technologies to enhance student learning.

• Ensure equity and appreciation of diversity in the classroom.

Requirements

• DESE Licensure in Science 5-8
• Bachelor's Degree
• SEI Endorsement

Nice-to-haves

• Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs
• Demonstrated experience with second language acquisition
• Ability to speak Albanian, Arabic, Nepali, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, or an African Language.
