About the position

The Long-Term Substitute Teacher for Special Education will provide instructional support and continuity for students with special needs during the absence of the regular teacher. This role is essential in maintaining the educational progress of students and ensuring that their individual learning needs are met during the specified period.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction in accordance with the curriculum and individual education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment.
• Collaborate with special education staff and other teachers to support student learning.
• Assess student progress and adapt lessons as necessary to meet individual needs.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs.

Requirements

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education or equivalent qualifications.
• Experience working with students with special needs in an educational setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with IEP development and implementation.
• Familiarity with assistive technology and resources for special education.
