About the position

The Longitudinal Data Analyst position at the State Budget Office involves performing analytical and reporting services related to Michigan's education data. The role is crucial for managing, collecting, and reporting educational data, ensuring accurate portrayal of information on students, staff, and schools. The analyst will work closely with stakeholders to gather business requirements and develop solutions that meet their data needs, while also assisting in the design and maintenance of the Michigan Statewide Longitudinal Data System (MSLDS).

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical and reporting services from the Michigan Statewide Longitudinal Data System (MSLDS).
  • Meet with stakeholders to collect business requirements and create solutions that meet their data needs.
  • Assist in the design, development, implementation, operation, and maintenance of the MSLDS.
  • Design and test data loads for the MSLDS.

Requirements

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
  • No specific type or amount of experience required for Departmental Analyst 9.
  • One year of professional experience for Departmental Analyst 10.
  • Two years of professional experience, including one year at the intermediate (10) level for Departmental Analyst P11.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with SQL and statistical software applications such as SAS, R, SPSS, or PowerBI.
  • Background in statistics, data analytics, program evaluation, or information management systems.
