About the position

The Longitudinal Data Analyst position at the State Budget Office involves performing analytical and reporting services related to Michigan's education data. The role is crucial for managing, collecting, and reporting educational data, ensuring accurate portrayal of information on students, staff, and schools. The analyst will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and develop solutions that meet their data needs, while also assisting in the maintenance and operation of the Michigan Statewide Longitudinal Data System (MSLDS).

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical and reporting services from the Michigan Statewide Longitudinal Data System (MSLDS).
  • Meet with stakeholders to collect business requirements and create solutions that meet their data needs.
  • Assist in the design, development, implementation, operation, and maintenance of the MSLDS.
  • Design and test data loads for the MSLDS.

Requirements

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
  • For Departmental Analyst 10: One year of professional experience.
  • For Departmental Analyst P11: Two years of professional experience, including one year at the intermediate (10) level in state service.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in data analysis or reporting in an educational context.
  • Familiarity with data management systems and data visualization tools.
