About the position

This position is for a film editor and a key grip for a student short film being produced in Puerto Rico. The film is based on Hurricane Maria and is part of a project from Loyola Marymount University School of Film and Television, one of the top film schools in the nation. The roles are ideal for passionate film students or emerging filmmakers looking to gain experience in a collaborative environment. The film will be submitted to international film festivals in Summer 2025, providing a valuable opportunity for exposure in the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Film Editor: Travel with the crew to Puerto Rico, link files during production, and start assembling a rough cut of the film immediately after filming.
  • Key Grip: Assist in setting up and managing equipment on set, ensuring smooth operation during filming.

Requirements

  • Film Editor: Advanced experience in Premiere Pro and experience as a DIT (Digital Imaging Technician). Must have a computer with a fast system.
  • Key Grip: Extensive experience in key grip duties, with a proven track record of handling difficult tasks on set.

Nice-to-haves

  • Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred for both positions.
