About the position
The Mover/Packer position at Rio Moving involves transporting and packing items for clients in and around Long Island, CA. The role requires physical endurance, organizational skills, and the ability to work as part of a team. The job is contract-based, offering competitive pay and the opportunity for same-day payment upon job completion.
Responsibilities
- Transport items to and from job locations within a 60-mile radius of Long Island, CA.
- Pack and unpack items carefully to ensure they are not damaged during transit.
- Lift and carry heavy items (60 lbs. or more) while climbing stairs and balancing.
- Interact with customers to resolve issues and provide excellent service.
- Work efficiently with a helper to complete jobs in a timely manner.
- Maintain a punctual and professional demeanor at all times.
Requirements
- Must be at least 25 years old.
- Minimum 2 years of moving experience is mandatory.
- Valid/Active Driver's License is required.
- Ability to rent and drive a 16ft or 26ft box truck.
- Endurance to be on your feet for 6 to 10 hours a day.
- Reliable transportation to and from job locations.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with using a standard dolly and basic set of tools for moving tasks.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items while climbing stairs.
