About the position

LoopNet, a leading global provider of commercial and residential real estate information, analytics, and online marketplaces, is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their team. This position is based in Irvine, California, and offers the flexibility of working remotely for two days a week. The Senior DevOps Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting multiple software products and brands across the organization, including LoopNet, Apartments, Homes, and Ten-X. In this role, the Senior DevOps Engineer will be responsible for automating and leveraging DevOps principles, striving for operational excellence with an infrastructure-as-code mentality. The engineer will utilize cutting-edge technology to improve services and processes, manage enterprise-level web applications, and collaborate with development and operations teams to design and build scalable and secure infrastructure. The position requires practicing continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) using the latest DevOps tools and innovative methods, ensuring the health and uptime of critical systems and applications through proactive monitoring and metrics analysis. Strong troubleshooting skills across applications, networks, systems, and infrastructure are essential, along with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. The engineer will also participate in a weekly on-call rotation once onboarded.

Responsibilities

  • Manage enterprise-level web applications.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to design and build scalable and secure infrastructure.
  • Practice continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) using the latest DevOps tools and innovative methods.
  • Ensure the health and uptime of critical systems and applications with proactive monitoring and metrics analysis.
  • Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills across applications, networks, systems, and infrastructure, with the ability to multi-task and context switch.
  • Communicate effectively, expressing oneself clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Participate in a weekly on-call rotation once onboarded.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited, not-for-profit university or college.
  • A track record of commitment to prior employers.
  • 5+ years' experience managing heavy web traffic sites.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools, specifically Azure DevOps.
  • Proficiency in Kubernetes and EKS.
  • Experience with AWS services including EC2, ALBs, S3, IAM, ASG, Lambda, Dynamo, Step Function, Elasticache, and OpenSearch.
  • Familiarity with enterprise monitoring tools in areas of APM, system vitals, synthetics, and RUM (e.g., DataDog, AppDynamics, Prometheus, Icinga).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or YAML.
  • Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Chef, Ansible).
  • Experience configuring CDN for performance caching and global traffic management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Some developer background with either Java, C#, Python, or NodeJS.
  • Familiarity with load balancing technologies such as F5 LTMs, including management of VIPs, pools, nodes, iRule authoring, and SSL offloading.
  • Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases.
  • Knowledge of server-less architecture methodologies.
  • Familiarity with PCI compliance and remediation.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and working on short sprints.
