About the position
The position involves committing to precept 1 student per semester for a minimum of 2 semesters per year, with a total of 3 semesters available (Summer, Fall, and Spring). The preceptor must commit to a minimum of 150 hours with the student each semester, as the student is required to complete 210 clinical hours. The role encompasses three key responsibilities: acting as a provider, preceptor, and clinical faculty. The preceptor is expected to communicate directly with Course Faculty regarding the student's progress and any concerns, and to complete a final evaluation of the student. Responsibilities
- Precept and supervise the clinical experience of students in the nurse practitioner programs.
- Commit to a minimum of 150 hours with the student per semester.
- Communicate directly with Course Faculty regarding student progress and concerns.
- Complete final evaluation of the student.
Requirements
- Licensed and authorized to practice under federal law and state laws where the Clinical Experience takes place.
- Approved to practice at the facility where the Clinical Experience occurs.
- Must be a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Advance Nurse Practitioner, Physician, or Physician Assistant.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience as a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine primary care NP, PA, or physician.
