About the position

The Insurance Loss Control Field Inspector role involves conducting inspections for both commercial and residential properties as an independent contractor. The inspector is responsible for gathering detailed information about the physical characteristics and conditions of properties, which is crucial for insurance underwriting decisions. This position allows for flexible scheduling and requires a self-motivated individual who can work independently and manage a high volume of inspections efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of commercial and residential properties.
  • Document physical characteristics, exterior measurements, and general conditions of properties.
  • Photograph properties and identify unusual hazards.
  • Provide recommendations based on inspection findings.
  • Compile comprehensive reports summarizing observable hazards associated with risks.
  • Organize and prioritize inspection schedules to meet client needs.

Requirements

  • Energetic individual capable of completing a high volume of inspections.
  • Motivated, analytical, resourceful, and decisive with good problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written, composition, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction and guidance.
  • Self-disciplined and organized, able to manage an aggressive workload.

  • Previous experience in construction, plumbing, electrical industries, life safety, firefighting, general contracting, or property management.
