About the position

The Loss Prevention/Customer Engagement Specialist is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the safety and security of the store environment. This role involves monitoring customer interactions, assisting with electronic article surveillance, and upholding the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Acknowledge customers as they enter and exit the store.
  • Answer customer questions and assist with deactivation of electronic article surveillance devices.
  • Monitor the Greeter Kiosk.
  • Model customer-first behavior and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Politely ask customers to see their receipt for non-bagged items and direct them to registers when necessary.
  • Respond to activations of Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) systems.
  • Assist customers with bascarts that may lock up with Purcheck.
  • Report safety concerns to the supervisor.
  • Comply with corporate policies and promote company initiatives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to draw conclusions.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work within strict time frames and deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to speak a second language.
  • Knowledge of Kroger policies, procedures, and organizational structure.
  • Flexibility to work any shift.
