About the position
The Loss Prevention/Customer Engagement Specialist at Fred Meyer is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the safety and security of the store. This role involves monitoring customer interactions, assisting with electronic article surveillance, and maintaining a welcoming environment for shoppers. Responsibilities
- Acknowledge customers as they enter and exit the store.
- Answer customer questions and assist with deactivation of electronic article surveillance devices.
- Monitor the Greeter Kiosk and ensure a friendly atmosphere.
- Model customer-first behavior and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service.
- Politely ask customers to see their receipt for non-bagged items and direct them to registers when necessary.
- Respond to activations of Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) systems.
- Assist customers with deactivation of EAS devices.
- Direct communication with the district Asset Protection (AP) manager/district AP specialists to report suspicious behavior.
- Assist customers with bascarts that may lock up with Purcheck.
- Report safety concerns to the supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work within strict time frames and deadlines.
- Strong critical thinking skills.

- Ability to speak a second language.
