About The Position

The Loss Prevention Associate role at Vigilant Asset Protection involves providing asset protection services in various retail environments. The primary focus is on preventing theft and ensuring a safe shopping experience by observing, identifying, and apprehending shoplifters while adhering to company guidelines and legal regulations.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to obtain Oregon DPSST License.
• High School diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Excellent written / verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact in a professional and positive manner with store management, Asset Protection team members, and clients.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Must be detail-oriented, highly motivated, and a self-starter.
• Able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time, both inside and outdoors.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, holidays, and weekends.
• Able to pass a thorough background screen, including criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in Employment & labor law.
• Class D Security License (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Observe, identify, and apprehend shoplifters in accordance with company guidelines.
• Conduct theft investigations, interviews, detainments, and retail asset protection.
• Author incident reports accurately and in a timely manner.
• Document evidence in both writing and with photographs and upload into provided databases.
• Comply with ALL state, federal and local laws, and the policies, directives and procedures set forth by Vigilant Asset Protection.
• Notify direct supervisor of any work-related injuries, property damage or customer complaints.
• Work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
• Promote a culture of honesty and integrity.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
