About the position
The Loss Prevention Clerk/Off Duty Peace Officer position at Buc-ee's is a part-time role focused on protecting the company's assets and ensuring compliance with internal control procedures and regulations. The primary responsibilities include conducting store inspections, supervising assigned employees, and maintaining a secure environment for both customers and staff. The role requires the officer to walk and observe various areas of the store, including main entrances, restrooms, and the building perimeter, to ensure safety and compliance with store policies. In addition to monitoring the premises, the officer will serve as a conflict resolution agent during customer disputes, ensuring that issues are handled professionally and effectively. The position also involves securing the premises by patrolling the property, monitoring surveillance equipment, and inspecting buildings and access points. Officers are expected to report any irregularities, inform violators of policies, and control traffic by directing drivers as necessary. The role requires the completion of reports that document observations, incidents, and surveillance activities, as well as interviewing witnesses and obtaining necessary signatures. Maintaining the environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls is also a key responsibility. The officer must comply with legal requirements to uphold the organization's stability and reputation. Teamwork is essential, and the officer is expected to contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed. The position demands the ability to work during the store's busiest days and to adapt to a rotating schedule that includes both day and night shifts. Responsibilities
- Protect assets by ensuring compliance with internal control procedures and regulations through store inspections and supervision of assigned employees.
- Walk and observe various areas including main doors, restrooms, building perimeter, and fueling positions.
- Serve as a conflict resolution agent during customer disputes.
- Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property and monitoring surveillance equipment.
- Inspect buildings, equipment, and access points; permit entry as necessary.
- Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policies and procedures.
- Control traffic by directing drivers as needed.
- Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interview witnesses and obtain signatures.
- Maintain the environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls.
- Comply with legal requirements to maintain the organization's stability and reputation.
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
Requirements
- Previous retail, customer service, law prevention, and/or loss prevention experience is preferred.
- Must be a licensed Peace Officer.
- Ability to work on the store's busiest days.
- Ability to work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night.
- Maintain regular and prompt attendance.
- Effectively and efficiently complete tasks.
- Interact professionally with other team members.
