About the position

The Loss Prevention Officer is responsible for monitoring building activity during the night shift, ensuring safety and security after regular business hours. This role involves conducting patrols, managing access to various areas of the building, and responding to incidents involving employees or guests. The officer also maintains safety equipment and assists in emergency situations, contributing to a secure environment for all.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors building activity after and during regular business hours as well as on weekends.
  • Completes patrols to ensure doors are locked and the building is secure.
  • Monitors the building environment for safety concerns and makes necessary adjustments.
  • Locks and unlocks areas of the building depending on daily activities.
  • Completes daily activity reports.
  • Takes reports on employee/guest incidents and injuries.
  • Performs basic first-aid if needed.
  • Maintains lost and found inventory.
  • Monitors fire safety equipment.
  • Assists with evacuation or other emergency situations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Two to four years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Knowledge of word processing software and internet software.
