About the position

The Loss Prevention Specialist (LPS) is a crucial role within Amazon Operations, responsible for ensuring the security and operational continuity of the company's facilities. This position involves protecting people, products, and data while conducting investigations into theft, fraud, and workplace incidents. The LPS works closely with site leadership and cross-functional teams to identify vulnerabilities and implement strategies for risk mitigation. This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with responsibilities that include conducting audits, analyzing data, and liaising with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct confidential investigations and prepare prompt written reports of theft, fraud, and workplace violence/critical incidents.
  • Contribute to the identification of vulnerabilities and define appropriate mitigating actions while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Serve as department liaison and security/crisis management subject matter expert for site leadership.
  • Develop strategies for alarm reduction and conduct system diagnostics for problematic devices.
  • Perform regular physical security audits and investigate policy violations, security-related incidents, and loss events.
  • Collect information by monitoring systems and tools, analyzing data reports, and conducting interviews.
  • Interact with external security service providers to ensure delivery of high-quality security services.
  • Deliver loss prevention-related education and awareness programs to other teams.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ years of experience in security service, asset protection, audit, investigations, law enforcement, military, risk management, data analytics, inventory control, or quality assurance.
  • 1+ years of application experience with MS Office Professional Suite, including Excel to manipulate and analyze data.
  • Workplace incident mitigation or de-escalation experience.
  • Business Continuity planning experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or 2+ years of Amazon experience.
  • LPQ Career Choice Graduate certification.
  • 1+ year of leadership or management experience.
  • Interviewing experience; Wicklander and Zulawski, LPQ, CPP, LPC, CFI or other relevant certifications.
  • Experience in implementing metric-based strategies utilizing continuous improvement concepts.
  • Experience in physical security systems maintenance/implementation.
