About the position

The Lot Attendant plays a crucial role in maintaining and managing the store lot and service department, ensuring the efficiency of sales and service operations while upholding the company's image and reputation. This full-time, permanent position involves various responsibilities, including equipment handling, lot maintenance, and effective communication with team members and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures adherence to company values and promotes employee recognition programs.
  • Keeps the lot clean and organized, including the loading dock area.
  • Responsible for grading the lot, dust control, snow removal, and trash management.
  • Unloads new equipment and tags for inventory, assisting truck drivers with loading equipment for transit.
  • Removes defined accessories from equipment and stores them as instructed.
  • Helps customers load and unload equipment, communicating with the service office as needed.
  • Completes paperwork for newly arrived items.
  • Monitors and maintains the condition of equipment on the lot, ensuring attachments are tagged and retrievable.
  • Assists in merchandising and rotating equipment for maximum visibility and exposure.
  • Winterizes equipment on the lot and checks antifreeze levels during winter.
  • Checks and services air compressors and waste oil heaters as needed.
  • Ensures good communication within location personnel and with other locations regarding equipment.
  • Follows all safety and compliance regulations during equipment movement.
  • Assists the trucking department with service needs and local transportation of items.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, including end-of-day tasks and local errands.

Requirements

  • High School degree or GED preferred.
  • Experience driving large agricultural or construction equipment highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of agricultural and construction equipment preferred.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work extended hours during the week and on weekends.
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle status with a current driver's license (CDL not required but a plus).
